OLAP Manager Components and Workflow

Here is the list of OLAP Manager components and how the workflow is defined.

Cubes:
With an Nectari installation, manage as many cubes as desired, each cube contains their own definition of Dimensions, Measures, Slices and Data Sources.
Dimensions:
Key element of a data cube, define dimensions in Nectari.
Measures:
Key element of a data cube, define measures in Nectari.
Slices:
Defined subsets of data based on a list of dimensions.
Data Sources:
A data source is a source for the defined structure of the cube. A cube could have several data sources. For instance, a production ERP system, a legacy system, an external database shared by a supplier, etc. Each data source is managed by 3 different screens:
Data Source Editor:
This screen is used to define the tables, joins, field, calculated fields, tracking and stored procedures used as a data warehouse.
Dimensions Mapping:
This screen is used to define the links between cube dimensions and data source fields or calculated fields.
Measures Mapping:
This screen is used to define the links between cube measures and data source fields or calculated fields.
Build Cube:
Once the cube is defined, mapped with the data sources and with proper slices, it has to be built.
Suitable objects will be (re)created in the data warehouse (e.g. Nectari Cube).
Scheduler:
Manage One-time, Daily, Weekly or Monthly jobs that can refresh or load all data, per data sources, into the cube.
Logs:
See the history of jobs for a cube (build, refresh, load all), including the error messages when something is not working fine.
