Installing Sage X3

The Sage X3 template provides you with a ready-to-use set of views, dashboards, reports, and workbooks.

Depending on how you plan on using Sage X3, there are three possible installation scenarios.

Scenario 1 - You will be accessing data directly from a production environment. The template installation consists of these main steps in the Web Server:

  1. Configuring the Data Sources

  2. Importing the Template

  3. Building and Loading the OLAP Cubes

Scenario 2 - You will be replicating data from a data warehouse. Data will be replicated on premise with DataSync to avoid disrupting the production environment. The template installation consists of these main steps:

  1. Configuring the Sage X3 template in DataSync:

    1. Configuring the Connections

    2. Configuring the Extraction

    3. Configuring the Schedule

  2. Configuring the Sage X3 template in the Web Server:

    1. Configuring the Data Sources

    2. Importing the Template

    3. Building and Loading the OLAP Cubes

Scenario 3 - You will be using Nectari Cloud. Data will be replicated in the Cloud with DataSync. The template installation consists of these main steps:

  1. Configuring the Sage X3 template in DataSync:

    1. Configuring the Connections

    2. Configuring the Extraction

    3. Configuring the Schedule

  2. Configuring the Sage X3 template in the Web Server:

    1. Data Sources: A data source is already configured for you in the Production environment. There is only one data source in this environment. The data source name is DataWarehouse. Data from Sage X3 and from the OLAP cube will all be in this data warehouse but they will be separated in two different schemas (for example, SEED and NEC_SEED).

If you need a second environment, you will be able to create it with your ADMCA account.

    2. Importing the Template

    3. Building and Loading the OLAP Cubes
