Hardware Requirements and Recommendations

Nectari has hardware requirements and hardware recommendations. Consult both in order to arrive at the best installation process for you.

Hardware Requirements

Note

The hardware requirements depend on the chosen installation architecture and the volume of data to manage. Consult a Nectari specialist for customizing recommendations.

Nectari on a dedicated server (excluding the OLAP Cube database) typically requires at least:

  • CPU: Quad Core 2.8 GHz

  • RAM Memory: 8 GB (16 GB for 100 users)

  • Hard Disk Drive: 10 GB available space (Website + Services + Nectari Database)

Important

It is recommended to have a planning and infrastructure assessment discussion with a Nectari specialist to ensure proper performance after Nectari is installed.

Hardware Recommendations

There are multiple deployment models for Nectari, the most common of which are:

  • Installing Nectari and all its components on the same server as the ERP application and database

  • Installing the applicative side of Nectari (websites) on a dedicated server, and the database side of Nectari (Central Point, warehouse) on the ERP server

These recommendations are in addition to the hardware recommendations of the workloads co-existing on the same server.

Depending on the usage, Nectari's workloads have varying resource footprints on the infrastructure they rely upon.

Below are the matrices of hardware recommendations for the most common scenarios, by function of number of users and data volumes. The term "licenses" refers to both viewer and active licenses.

Important

The RAM requirement for using the distribution with more than one parallel job must be at least 16 GB and increase by approximately 4 GB per consecutive parallel job, depending on data and other parameters.

Single Server

Multiple Servers

Example Scenario

Consider the following scenario:

  • Nectari is installed entirely on the same server as the ERP

  • The ERP system has the following hardware requirements:

    • 2 vCPus

    • 16 GB memory

    • 500 GB free disk space

  • There are 15 Nectari licenses

  • There are 17 million records in the financial transactional tables

We recommend the following hardware for the server:

  • 10 vCPUS (2 for ERP + 8 for Nectari)

  • 32 GB memory (16 for ERP +16 for Nectari)

  • 750 GB of free disk space (500 GB for ERP + 250 GB for Nectari)
