Item History Price & Cost
The Item History Price & Cost dashboard tracks pricing and cost changes across inventory items over time. It works with two types of values: extended values, which represent total revenue (extended price) and total cost (extended cost) calculated from unit price or cost multiplied by quantity sold, and standard values, which are the expected unit cost and selling price set as baselines. The dashboard compares these across items and years to show how they evolve and where they diverge.
The radar charts on either side highlight the top 10 items by extended cost and standard cost, showing how values are distributed across your highest cost items. The center and bottom charts add a time dimension, comparing extended and standard values year over year. The worksheet at the bottom provides the full breakdown by item group and year with all cost and price metrics in one place.
How to use this dashboard
- Identify highest cost items using the radar charts to see which items carry the largest extended and standard costs.
- Compare pricing and cost year over year to spot trends, increases, or anomalies in item values.
- Check standard vs. actual values to find items where standard costs or prices no longer match reality.
- Review the full cost breakdown in the worksheet by item group and year for detailed analysis.
