Profit and Loss
The Profit and Loss workbooks show revenue, costs, and expenses for a selected fiscal period, from gross profit down to net income. Also known as an income statement, this report type covers a range of formats: basic period reporting, actual vs. budget comparisons, year-over-year analysis, forecasting, rolling 12-month views, and multi-year comparisons.
Benefits of the profit and loss workbooks
- Review financial results for any fiscal period across revenue, costs, and expenses down to net income.
- Compare actual results against budget or prior years to identify where performance differs from plan or historical trends.
- Analyze longer-term patterns using rolling 12-month or 5-year views.
