Production Order Transactions

The Production Order Transactions data model captures all transactional activity associated with production orders, including material consumption, labor and resource costs, production output, and WIP variances. It provides a detailed, line-level view of how production is executed and how costs accumulate throughout the manufacturing process.

Use this data model to analyze production efficiency, understand cost drivers, and reconcile operational activity with financial outcomes.

Benefits of this data model

  • Trace all material, labor, and operational transactions at the production order level.
  • Break down production costs into material, labor, and resource components.
  • Understand how resources are consumed across production activities.
  • Measure completed production quantities and their associated value.
  • Identify cost variances between expected and actual production costs through WIP variance analysis.

Available views

This data model includes predefined views, each built for a specific use case. A view can take different forms depending on how the data is best presented, such as a worksheet, a chart, a gauge, or a map. The views in this data model are worksheets.

Some views open with predefined filters already applied so the view shows only the data relevant to its purpose. Active filters are displayed in the filter bar at the bottom of the view and can be adjusted at any time.

ViewsWhat it shows
Production Transaction LedgerDetailed line-level ledger of all production transactions, including quantities, costs, and accounting impact. Opens with a date range selected from the selection page before the data loads.
Material Consumption by Production OrderSummary of material issued, returned, and net consumed by production order. Opens with a date range selected from the selection page and only material transactions are shown.
Labor & Resource Cost by Production OrderBreakdown of labor hours, labor cost, and resource cost per production order. Limited to labor and resource transaction types, including backflush labor, machine, and tool transactions.
Production Output (Completions)Summary of completed production quantities, receipts, and associated production value.
WIP Variance per UnitAnalysis of cost variance per unit produced, highlighting inefficiencies and cost discrepancies. Limited to operation and receipt transaction types to focus on completed production activity.
