Import Excel Files as Workbooks

Import Workbook brings existing Excel files into Nectari as workbooks. The import process automatically converts compatible Excel Add-in features to their workbook equivalents, so you can keep using existing layouts without rebuilding them.

When to import an Excel file​

  • Reuse existing reports instead of rebuilding layouts from scratch in Nectari.
  • Migrate Excel Add-in workbooks when you want to work with them as native workbooks.

Supported formats​

The following file formats can be imported: .csv, .xlsx, .xlsm, and .xltx. Some Excel features are not currently supported after import:

  • Reporting Tree
  • Wildcard filtering
  • Prompts

Import an Excel file​

  1. In the navigation panel, select Workbooks.
  2. Right-click and select Import Workbook.
  3. In the Import Workbook dialog, drag and drop your Excel file.
  4. (Optional) Enter a password if the file is protected.
  5. Select Import. A new workbook is created in the navigation panel with all sheets and data from the Excel file.

If the imported file includes a sheet named Errors, it lists any cells that could not be converted and explains why.
