Project Cost Projection

The Project Cost Projection data model provides a detailed view of construction project cost forecasts and projection revisions in Acumatica. It includes project, revision, task, account group, cost code, inventory, budgeted cost, actual cost, committed open cost, cost to complete, projected cost at completion, quantities, and completion percentages. Use it to evaluate how current and forecasted project costs compare with budget, review changes between projection revisions, and identify areas where additional cost is expected before project completion.

How to use this data model

  • Review cost projections by project, task, account group, and cost code to understand where forecasted costs are concentrated.
  • Compare budgeted and actual costs to measure current performance against the approved project budget.
  • Include open commitments in cost analysis to account for costs that have been committed but not yet fully recognized as actuals.
  • Monitor cost to complete to estimate the additional spending required to finish each project or cost category.
  • Analyze projected cost at completion to identify projects expected to finish over or under budget.
  • Track completion percentages and projected quantities to compare financial progress with operational progress.
  • Compare projection revisions by date, class, and status to understand how project forecasts change over time.
  • Review released and rejected projections to distinguish approved forecasts from revisions that were not accepted.
