GL Account Transactions

The GL Account Transactions data model provides transaction level detail from the general ledger. It includes measures like debit amount, credit amount, beginning balance, ending balance, posting amount, and net income across individual journal entries and transactions. Use it to drill into specific transactions, trace journal entries back to source documents, and audit account activity at the most granular level.

How to use this data model

  • Audit account activity by reviewing individual transactions with debits, credits, and posting amounts.
  • Validate account accuracy by checking total debits and credits in each account before period close.
  • Compare income against expenses to assess financial performance and profitability over time.
  • Review financial position with snapshots of assets, liabilities, and equity at specific points in time.
  • Track long term assets to see how fixed asset composition is distributed by category.
